Characters : Abby Knight is ex-law school student turned florist. She owns a small flower shop, Bloomers, in the town square and a bananna yellow vintage Corvette. She also has a thriving yearn for justice from her father and a creative side she wished didn't come from her mother. Ex-cop turned P.I. and bar owner, Marco Salvare helps Abby poke around. Two employees of Bloomers make several appearances and keep things light and blooming in the flower shop.
Setting : A small midwestern college town of New Chaplel, Indiana.
Basic Plot : When Abby’s pride and joy, her Corvette, is crumpled in a hit and run she is determined to track down the crazy driver of the black SUV. Then her investigation turns deadly. Turns out a murder happened the morning of her accident, a young drug addict is found dead, and Abby is convinced she saw the murderer fleeing the scene of the crime.
Comments : Abby is an interesting character with interesting quirks and a nice touch with flowers. I enjoyed her as our heroine and I really enjoyed this light hearted mystery as a whole. It was perfect for an early spring read and made me wish desperately for flowers and sunshine. The plot is complicated enough and keeps you as the reader guessing as to the identity of our killer. The content is clean, funny, and engaging. Really is a great start to the series and I look forward to more.
