5 Movies to Get You in the Mood for Fall

Hello Autumn! I love that fall has officially arrived so I can start cracking out my sweaters, boots, and scarves. Unfortunately our weather is not yet cooperating fully, so I am currently living in fall vicariously through many of your blogs as well as some of these films. If you are looking to get into the fall spirit too, then here are five films that do the trick for me.

1// Dan in Real Life This is probably one of my most favorite movies, especially for fall. The entire extended family getting together to pack up the house in preparation for winter, love it! This movie reminds me so much of my own family and our vast gatherings. The leaves, the sweaters, the crispness in the air--I want it all!

2// Sweet Home Alabama I honestly can't tell you what it is about this movie that so reminds me of fall other than the fact that my BFF and I would watch it on cold fall nights. We would curl up in her basement, kick on the gas fireplace, have popcorn at the ready, and watch this movie.

3// Mona Lisa Smile Again, another favorite. My mom took me to this film when it first came out and I loved it from the from the first five minutes. This movie is cozy, heart warming, and so great for fall. I guess it is just something about school this year for me. I am missing school more than ever, but Wellesley brings it all back to me.

4// Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Fall cannot officially begin without a Harry Potter movie. That is just the way it is. I love the books, I love the movies, and I love my HP cape my mommy made for me many Christmases ago. Picture this: apple cider, a velvety cape used as a blanket, woolly socks, and Goblet of Fire on my big screen. Right!?!?! The best!

5// Twilight I know, I know, but listen. Twilight is nowhere near the top of my top movies list. In fact it probably is near rock bottom for dialogue, acting, and thematic elements. So why then is this movie on my five films for fall list? Because the scenery. That is it, the only reason. The mist rolling in. The clouds hovering low, looming. The chunky mittens and boots. The icy breaths of air in practically every scene. This is the scenery I love for fall. Besides, this time while watching the movie I kept thinking, "You slapped a fiiiiish. You punched it. Why would you hit it?" Then I pretty much giggled my way through the rest of the movie.
